Excellent spot for delicious Italian food with a cozy atmosphere and great service. Can't go wrong with any pasta. Great wine selection too. Portions on the smaller side.

My preferred spot for quality italian food. I love this place. I'll return with my friends. This place has an awesome feel to it.

Fantastic food and amazing service. The truffle pasta was amazing and every single wine we had was greatly paired with the food too. Highly recommend this place for a nice night out.

3.5 stars. Pricy for what it is but the pastas were delicious, especially the tomato sauce with ricotta. I started making this myself at home after buying ricotta. Romantic dark ambiance, quite a few tables around us were on dates. Not my favorite Italian place in SF but food is definitely above average. They had a seasonal pork belly appetizer that was super super yummy but it was $18 for 4 thin slices of pork.

Wonderful spot with great food, great ambiance and easy access. I found this restaurant looking for authentic Italian homemade food. This place did not disappoint. Small restaurant with romantic feel that made us both so excited. Had a great glass of wine and ordered fantastic food.

Traveled 5 hours to try this restaurant! I loved it. Great ambience, wonderfully crafted food, and great table service. Really enjoyed the pistachio house made cracker appetizer and the kale pasta with mushrooms was fantastic! Also tried the meatballs, which were melt in your mouth amazing. Smooth and delicate with a subtle kick of spice. The salad with green goddess dressing was light, fresh, and crisp. Highly recommend Seven Hills!

Seven Hills was locally recommended as the must-go-to dining. Couldn't go in July because I could not get reservations. Made sure I booked this early, and planned the rest of my SF trip around this! Did not disappoint! So worth the hype.

Absolutely superb! Food is great, service is top notch. I wouldn't forget the hospitality of Alexis who was the friendliest host, helped me park my car in a Saturday night! Please try this place if you are in San Francisco and want to experience great Italian food.

Our waiter was very friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu. Everything on the wine list has a personal note from the restaurant which I thought was really cool for those of us who don't know much. (My one day in Napa apparently didn't hack it) We started with the buffalo mozzarella which was excellent.

Yesterday was our first time we visited this good restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last time. We enjoyed the evening very much with the attentive service, with the finest cooking and fine drinks and with the honest charge. We will surely visit there again.

The food at Seven Hills is impeccable. The flavors are outstanding! Great wine list too! This restaurant does a great job sourcing products from small business owners - and the results are obvious in their food. The portion sizes are great! Can’t say enough about the staff-and it starts at the top as the owner took time with us to recommend a wine as well as dishes! The setting is intimate. Can’t wait to go back!

Had an amazing time at this restaurant. We got there in the evening, the weather was beautiful and we got to have dinner in the back of the cutest car sitting out front!!! The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. This is a must for anyone visiting SF and wanting Italian food. Call ahead and see if you can sit in the car. Too much fun!!!

A friend made a reservation here as I was in town for my birthday. It was the perfect birthday treat. From the service from our waiter Tony right through to all of the food options, and the Prosecco, it was a gorgeous meal. I don’t think I have had a better all-round experience at a restaurant anywhere in many years. Between the two of us we shared the beetroot salad, the meatball starter, the Machronelli and the pappardelle (which was exceptionally good).

I liked Seven Hills but didn’t love it. On the day before shelter in place started, we ordered the steak, noodles, and a salad, and the noodles were the best although none of it was particularly memorable. The meat was a bit undercooked. Still, glad that I had the opportunity to check off a SF hotspot.

Hands down, one of the best restaurant experiences of my life. Hope to return again one day.

Amazing fresh, handmade pasta. Delicious meats. Friendly, attentive staff.

The food was so fresh and tasty. Most of the dishes we had were simple which meant they needed to be executed perfectly - and they were. The ingredients used were clearly very fresh and I loved that there were some night of specials. As a vegetarian, I had options, which I always appreciate. The brussels sprouts were perfectly done and the maccheroncelli with housemade ricotta was one of the most delicious things I've eaten in all my years in San Francisco. The service was attentive and wonderful. The whole restaurant had a nice feel, with somewhat dim lighting and ample space between tables. Highly recommend.

Seven Hills is a great place to take a date or to go with a small group, it’s a pretty small restaurant so definitely you should make a reservation in advance. As far as the food goes, it is so good. I ordered a pasta dish in a spicy red sauce. It truly was outstanding. Seven Hills is a hidden gem.

The place is very nice. Plenty of places to sit and eat. Do use the house sauce because its delish AF.

Good food but just average service. Perhaps I’ve lived in NYC too long, but it’s never a good sign when the waiter asks if you’re ready to order drinks, apps, and mains all at once. Why did I even come to a restaurant in that case?

Seven Hills is a perpetually great local gem that has everything I love. Wonderful attentive and relaxed service. A simple, local and authentic menu. Quality dishes from top to bottom. The pasta is fresh and rustic. The meats are phenomenal-- especially the pork chop. The fish is perfect. The wine list is deep, original and affordable. They always have a half dozen specials for dinner that aren't on the menu and that's often the way to go. Reservations are a must. Dinner for two with starters, mains and dessert plus wine is about $200 and well worth it.

Truly a gem of a restaurant. We had a seasonal truffle tortellini pasta it was the best I’ve had almost anywhere. The vegetable sides of brussels sprouts and cauliflower were masterful. The wine steward paired rhe wines adroitly. The service was attentive and enthusiastic. The ambience was also fabulous- warm but stylish. Truly a superb dining experience.

Great for a special occasion! Great service, delicious wine (paired well with the food), amazing food. The prosciutto was paper thin and the best I've ever had. Stuffed meatball was flavorful and the bread it came with was awesome. The truffle pasta was tasty, but the truffle itself wasn't what I would've expected it to be (my first time eating real truffle). The lobster tagliolini was also tasty, but I felt the lobster should've been more of the star and was kind of just there. The affogato was creamy delicious. I was overall very happy with the meal as I was celebrating an anniversary with my girlfriend. Expensive meal, but many highlights.

Wonderful! Everything was delicious and perfectly balanced. It’s days later and I’m still dreaming of the pasta.

My son lives in the same building, and insisted we go there. It was great! The fontina stuffed meatballs for appetizer left us wanting more. We all liked out pasta course. I particularly liked mine with corn and mushrooms that was both sweet and savory. Dessert could not be skipped. They are moving, but not closing. I am looking forward to checking the new locale on my next trip to San Francisco.

For being an Okie raised on steak and potatoes I have to say that seven Hills NY Strip Steak was by far the best I’ve ever had and the Au Gratin potatoes were perfection.

This place is really amazing and I encourage everyone to stop by. The head waiter was nice enough to sit us at the bar even though all the reservations were taken for the night. We had a welcome dish from the chef which was refreshing and ordered some salami as the appetizer. The final pasta dish was so delish, never had anything like it. It came with truffles which were quite delicious. If you haven’t been, please make a reservation sometime soon!

Fantastic experience. Food was delicious without trying too hard. Service was impeccable - friendly without being in your face, timely and efficient. Timings of food were excellent too. And not overpriced yet it felt fancy. We'll be back!

Oh Em Gee! I absolutely loved all the food we ordered!! Either that or I was really hungry lol. I was visiting from LA and searched yelp for places to dine and came across this place. To my luck, I was able to make a late reservation last minute; I was so excited. My cousin and I ordered Maccheroncelli, Tagliatelle, Meatballs and Prosciutto di Parma. EVERY dish we had was absolutely amazing!! I didn't think a dish without meat (Maccheroncelli) could taste so delicious, I loved it!! I think this was my favorite of all. The meatballs were moist inside and the sauce complimented the meatball well. I love prosciutto and this dish did not disappoint. Yum! On top of the delicious food, the service was great! The ambiance of the restaurant is small and intimate. Parking is street only so we had to drive around a few times to eventually find a spot a couple blocks down. I would love to come again the next time I'm in SF!!

It’s a great place to date with ur love. The pasta were great. It’s my first time to have ravioli and it was so great. It was creamy and cheezy. Although I didn’t have wine, the employees there still patiently introduced the wine they have to me. It was a great experience!

A little hidden gem. They just moved to a larger space and the food is still amazing. We ate at the bar and Tony took care of our every need 😊

Absolutely amazing! Every bite. Great wine choices. Moderately priced for the quality of food. The crab pasta (special) was loaded with crab! A must try if you’re in the Bay Area. And oh, those meatballs!!!!

Delicious and quaint spot. The waiter surprised us with a mini pastry dish that was to die for. We also got the Brussels sprouts which I’d recommend. Overall a lovely neighborhood Italian dinner.

This was definitely one of the best Italian dining experiences I have ever had. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the meatballs were exquisite, they literally melt in your mouth. Lovely food at, for the quality and location, very reasonable prices. Beautiful ambiance, quiet neighborhood, thoughtfully put together ingredients and wine list. As for the "Roman" part, well, certainly it is Italian cuisine - mostly - but some Californian influences slip through: I don't think I've ever seen a "little gem" salad in Italy, nor a New York Strip steak tartare. Doesn't detract from the deliciousness though. Would be great for a special occasion or date.
